For this painting I used a similar technique as my previous one -Dry Winds- It's a great exercise trying to reach a pleasing balance between different textures, moods, values, etc. I also wanted to create some kind of "dialogue" between the wet, cold, hard foreground and the warm, soft background.
Let me know your thoughts and thanks for watching.

Ah I love that piece, there is such a dynamic in it...bold shapes, strong contrasts, interesting textures...it has a gritty feeling to it, which really fits to the rocky shore and the crashing waves. The way you contrasted the buildings against the glow in the sky is really nice, too, and adds so much to the atmosphere. There is only one tiny thing that bothers me a bit, and that's the texture on the midground rock in the left...it is so strong, that my eye keeps going there, although it's clearly not the focus of the piece. But that's my only critique...amazing work, Andreas!
