I really like the rendering on the robot.
What inspired this beautiful piece of work? I strive to know about every aspect of it. This girl specifically and why the robot loves her. Why a rose?The style is wonderful as well.
Well that I think is gonna be kind of a dissapointing answer because I honestly don't really know myself. It's something that developed as I was working on it. I often experience this when I'm working on personal illustrations. The end results usually are completely different from the initial really vague idea I had and sometimes I don't have any idea at all and just let it unfold during the process. With this particular piece I remember I wanted to paint some nonchalant looking girl. At one point she became some sort of pirate, but that didn't turn out the way I wanted. I did wanted her to be asian and I stuck with that. Why the robot and rose I don't really know. It was just something that suddenly popped in my head and I felt it would be a nice idea to explore, so that's what it became eventually.
