That is a wonderful image man, really atmospheric and good choice in colours.

it would be really easy to add a bit more space at the bottom. just throw another hundred or so pixels of canvas space at the bottom and paint some more foreground right in. personally, i don't think the piece really needs it, but it couldn't hurt. i do think the piece could benefit from pushing the depth a bit. hitting those background mountains with a fair amount of light blue atmospheric haze would be a good start. adding it to a lesser degree between the two frost giants would do a lot of good too.

anyway, this piece rules. i love anything featuring frost giants, and this one being painted so well is just icing on the cake. i've been listening to that band "the sword" a lot lately, and this painting fits perfectly in their world. great work man!

This is really beautiful, love the color palette and the painting style. As much as I love the placement of objects in the general composition, [unless this is meant to be a book cover] there's too much head space and not enough space at the bottom -my personal opinion. Other than that, I'm lovin' it :)

You're right. BTW I don't want to make changes in work after it is completed. :)

very awesome. im not much into this style, but i really love this one. how do you paint the background and the figures ? seperatly or do you plan it before you start doing it?

I started it from b/w linear rough sketch. I’m always thinking about forefront and background like it is one. But I have several layer in PSD file for keeping necessary contours and shapes. On final phase of work amount of layer can be from 3 to 1. Depending from what I want to do.
