Hope this is of some help. For me this process works well, because you seperate individual drawing problems.

1. gesture first to get the shape, movement and feel.
2. drawing to define volumes and shapes more.
3. Midtone blockin to get a good base to paint from.
4. Shadow shapes
5. Light area and blending line.
6. light and dark Accents and added background with strong diagonal shapes. Diagonals help to make images more dynamic. also I was focusing on getting a good dark vs light contrast here to make things pop.
7. I colorized the whole image with hue saturation filter in a golden palette. then used overlay layers to get some variation in color.
8. some final touches. ive added some smoke effect ot frame the guy and to suggest some more movement.

:)
