WOAHHH, :O Cooooooollll, PERFECT
Well i must say I don't see the reason of this ...."painting", as is probably the same as the photo it's been made after. It's just a photo...painting and art means first, Idea, Vision, Personal Perspective and at last Virtuosity. I can almost see Virtuosity but none of the other things....I'm sorry! This is the same dangerous american /western kitsch realism, empty inside good for uneducated people, but definitely part of a decadent art and culture! Good practice ,I'm still waiting for the peace of art though!
The funny part is that if this study wasn't nearly as well executed, no one would be complaining about it.
That is just incredible!
So good to be True!!!
Stunning pic! Great rendering and painting !! .. I want to see the Process. it could be very useful for me and other artists too. >
Props go to photographer for picking nice pose and composition. Some color correction was probably done too to make the red pop against green. :)
It's quite a good work and study on it. I think don't need to show the process on how he achieve since the water waves and hair are completely not the same from the original.
true, and check out the necklace, got different color from the original..
very nice work, just don't envy guys, :D
Am I going to have to run back to art school? Do you know how id...unwise it is to suggest realism comes from any other source, but reference. From the masters of the 1700's and before, to now, no one achieved realism without a reference source. Whether photo's; looking out the window; models posed in front of them; all referenced. I don't know where you guys get these rules in your heads from; but they are false. It's not ok to use other peoples photo work without credit, but it's very ok to use your own. It is not ok to just blur a picture (or do the Corel trace paper thing), but it is ok to copy it, even trace it in the medium you're using. Your own personal growth as an artist is achieved by whatever path you choose. It's silly to go around attacking other peoples work as "cheating" or "not good", this just lends to jealousy and ruins personal growth, as a person; so please don't do that. It would also help if CGHUB didn't do contests with rules enforcing such misinformation, but it's not my site....so; later. This is a great illustration or study, no matter how the final was arrived.
You're wrong on many levels, but also right on a few. Many of the decisions that makes this piece enticing were already made in the reference. There isn't much new to it. It being in a computer is even worse - imagine traditional copies provide a steep barrier to entry. Computer take allot of that work and minimize it. You're totally right about jealousy, envy, not growing - those are all bad. Is this guy a good painter? Does he make good decisions in his art? We can't tell from this. It's fun to debate though. I suppose I like the thought that maybe he has great skill from copying such products, but I don't appreciate it as much as the other creative work here. This image is direct competition for eyeballs with other art that has much more soul. It is cheating if the pretense is false. For artists to praise this makes me sad because it promotes the activity behind it - I believe it is over simplifying an art that I love. Do not blame me for all these emotions. I enjoy having them. Even as we disagree, it is sharpening our own perspectives as artists. So it's useful. Thank you for your side.
