Citadel acrylics on copy machine paper. I use a cheap $1 cow hair brush. It has a lousy tip, but it can take sloppy handling and the tip never spreads like it does on synthetic fine tip brushes. For the splatter I use an old toothbrush. Underneath is pencil, gray markers and ink.
Compared to digital painting, painting with acrylics is slow and cumbersome. The mistakes stick, and the paints are kind of bad and turn darker when they dry.
The design is inspired by the old ABC warriors stuff. Simon Bisley, Paul Bonner, Kev Walker and Frezatto are some of my favourite painters, but I never even got close to mimicking their styles. Still, it's like a finger pointing to the moon...
