Skarin, the main character of Sega's/The Creative Assembly's new title Viking: Battle for Asgard. The task was to achieve a rather realistic and more detailed feel of the in-game character. Since it was used for life-size standee prints, the artwork has an extremely high resolution, it was a challenge to bring in all the details while preventing from a too stiff and unnatural look with that huge size. Completely done in Painter X and Photoshop CS3, no use of 3d software.

I love it man, the only thing I'd crit is that actual background, a very sterile white with blood-covered boots and a rugged appearance doesn't seem to match, but the character itself rocks :D

Wow, you definitely have a feel for lighting. It shows off your character well, without being overly dramatic. I love the fine textures on the boots, and the detailed metal shields and leather parts. The whole image looks dynamic and strong, and totally gives a feeling for the character!

    Well done,
    Daniel
