    I agree with the foreshortening of the wing seeming odd. It's a point that annoyed me since I've finished it. I could have fixed this, but didn't - don't know why. Thanks for the critic. I also noticed the perspective of her body in the sketch in the right is somewhat odd also.
    But regarding the wings... I don't know if its noticeable, but my idea was since the beginning of a rough wing, like that of a moth, and with some wear and tear, and not much translucent. Exactly because I was tired of that "fairy overkill" like you said you are. And most fairy wings are very delicate and translucent.

    A girl with wings. There's your fairy. Although i like the delicateness of the wings, it's just that i'm suffering from fairy overkill. The sketch on the right seems a bit odd. There should be more foreshortening of her right wing. Plus the transparency you try to suggest is not working. It needs better lighting, more detail.
